computer related question?

I have windows xp and I want to sell this computer to a friend. I want to erase all data from my hard disk so that he can have a fresh start. Also I do not have system restore feature to restore the computer to a factory settings. I do not even have system CD's nor windows recovery CD. Can someone plz help me out.

You need the Windows XP CD to format your computer, or you could do it with a cheap CD but you wouldn't be able to get Windows back..
