I have an Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection Card, and when i turn on the wireless on, it picks up signals from the wireless networks around, but it won't connect to any of them. I'm not pretending to know about computers, but when my computer picked up a signal it would connect to the preferred signals, it won't even connect. It says networks are in range, yet it won't connect to any. And i also do have an HP Pavillion dv4000

It's from a friend of mine who has an MSN address. Basically it's like this........

CHRIS
you have 8 unread mail messages
when I click it, it just then says who they're from. In this case, it's from one particular person. Do these unread e-mail messages actually exist? If so, please tell me where I am likely to find them. I have no new messages in my Yahoo! Mailbox. Is there one for Windows Live Messenger which I have?

ok i have an older model PC. It's a NEC if that matters any. It was upgraded to Windows XP maybe a couple years ago. It runs quite slow compared to my newer computer. I've tried all of those registry cleaners, spyware removers, antivirus, and the like. None of them seem to make any difference at all. I was thinking of wiping the hard drive(not to hide anything). Would this make any difference, and if it does, what program or method should I use to do it without too much hassle?

I recently rolled the system back to a date when it worked better due to a few problems I was unable to fix, it is working fine now except for this small problem, when I turn it on now it loads up fine but an error message pops up that says-

Smartbridge alerts:MotiveSBexe- Entry point not found
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

Any ideas what this is about and how to fix it?

I asked a question earlier but did not make myself clear...
When I first purchased my dell computer it had windows XP, I eventually got a virus which caused the computer to crash deleting everything. I asked a friend of mine to help, and he loaded windows 2000 professional onto the computer as he said it would be safer. I eventually lost sound and I didn't do anything about it for a long time. I have backed everything up onto disk and I want to restore the computer to its original settings so I can get both sound and Windows XP back. I have Norton GoBack but it is only allowing me to go back a couple of days so I am unable to use this. I'm not sure what to do...

I have to restart the computer to get it back. Nothing else works. The connection icon says I've still got a connection. Turning the modem off and on doesn't help. Logging on as administrator and resetting the connection doesn't help. Once in a great while restarting Explorer helps, but lately even that's not helping.

The computer in question is the main computer in our house. It's directly hooked up to my broadband wireless router. The other computers in the house have no trouble staying connected. I've moved to AT&T's broadband service from Cox, and this problem existed with Cox as well. I have Adaware and antivirus programs installed - no spyware or viruses are causing this.

I decided to repost this question because the answers from the previous attempt pretty much just asked about things that I've included as additional details above.

What do you guys suggest? (Switching to a Mac is not the cost-effective answer I'm looking for.)
