i am trying to dial-up on the internet using my cell phone and a bluetooth dongle. I keep getting errors stating that the modem or other connecting device is busy or not configured properly, or one that says cannot connect to server after trying to dial with the phone. i can go to modem properties and query the bluetooth and it works.

My computer runs for 3 or 4 minutes when I first start it up. The startup menu loads and loads and loads. Does everything I have a shortcut button for load during startup? Do I use configsys to delete them from startup? Do they use RAM? Or does it make any difference at all?

I'm not referring to the shortcut buttons you get when you click the start button to pull up the menu list. I'm talking about the actual process of turning on the computer and programs load in the operating system.

My son turned the computer off and it asked if I wanted a saftey on I clicked it now when the internet is on i have very little color with lines and dots where the color is supposed to be. Also the whole time I'm looking or typing the screen jumps I have no ideal what I did please help me

I have a sony vaio desktop pc about 18 months old. It works fine generally EXCEPT when i run something like norton antivirus for a virus check. Then it just blows, switches itself off. And the fuse in the plug in the wall is gone and I have to replace it, and i have to restart then everything is fine again, except when I run norton antivirus again.
And then yesterday I was on second life on the internet, and guess what, it went again. Are these things just too much work for my pc (which was very expensive and supposedly top of the range). Sorry but I'm not very technical. All answers gratefully received.

When ever I try to make pc to pc calls (using freshtel) the line keeps droping out. it goes dead for 5 sec then works for 5 sec then drops out again. I am with bt and have a 2mb connection and the person I call has a 3mb connection. I have turned my MTU setting down but if anything it has made it worse. How can I fix this???

I have done a bandwidth and I do have a 2mb connection and the pc I am connecting to does have a 3mb connection

I was thinking about getting a computer and all of them read different formats of cds and dvds
I would like to know if there is any software or other computer out there that reads all the different formats of the cds.
I REALLY need a computer that reads those cds, because i made a cd that has songs on it and my friend wanted that cd so i gave it to her and it didnt work because it couldnt read it
anyways i would like to know what computer reads all of the formats of cds
OR
if theres any software that makes your computer read all cds and dvds

I had to restart my computer and now i cant download napster! When i try to download it & click run, it says napster is already open but i cant find it to close it! Please help me on this. Where do i go to close it? Its no where to be found! WTF

i kno dragon has a great dictation program but does it also do program opening like i'd say "open internet exlprer" "search bar: florida vacation" and so on... or would vista b the way to go with both of these features? i heard Vista will have both and was wondering if vista would b a whole hell lot easier to use since it 'is' built into the computers program system so it will kno exactly the programs ur using and opening via speech. or is dragon jus hands down better? need info b4 x-mas thx!! happy hlidays all
