When ever I try to make pc to pc calls (using freshtel) the line keeps droping out. it goes dead for 5 sec then works for 5 sec then drops out again. I am with bt and have a 2mb connection and the person I call has a 3mb connection. I have turned my MTU setting down but if anything it has made it worse. How can I fix this???

I have done a bandwidth and I do have a 2mb connection and the pc I am connecting to does have a 3mb connection

Try a continuous ping to your DNS server with 5 second intervals to see if the network connection drops, or if its the freshtel equipment.

Voip is great until you try to download something. Sending an email over smtp is ok but a phone call is in real time, hence the breaking up. Do you have any p2p software like limewire running at the same time because this would cause this to happen?
