My computer is newer, but really slow. I have deleted all the unnecessary programs and turned it off for a while, but none of that works. Could it be that my computer is 3 in line to get internet (We have 2 other computer in the same room, and mine is the 3 one connected)??

I have now managed to completely clean my pc of all spyware, adware etc, but still got a problem with windows. I want to follow Jeremy P's advice, which involves switching off all the microsoft services one by one to identify which is causing the problem, but before I do that, looking at the ntbtlog, can anyone tell me what sort of thing I am looking for that might be causing the problem? I know a little bit about computers, but this is a bit complicated for me! Any help much appreciated.

I have a dial-up connection and Windows XP. When the computer is on (not online) and I use the telephone to make or receive a call it makes a terrible continual loud squeal. The only way to stop it is to turn the computer off, or disconnect the phone line from the computer. It didn't used to do like this. I don't know what to do about it. Please help.

I also want to change the settings on the search box so that it wouldn't automatically show the words/phrases I've searched before when I start to type the first letter. I don't want to see the searches I've made before. thanks!

so im planning on making my own computer , i have a choice of getting a 250 gig 16mb cache HDD or setup a RAID with 2 80 gig 8mb cache drives , would the 2 80 gigs be faster than the 250 gig ? and how hard is it to install RAID (hardware, drivers, settings ,ect)

p.s i have an average knowledge about computers

how do i go about more memory on c,for my grandaughter's computer?i have deleted all un-necessary.she's only using it for music but,everyone says leave msn on it.
also on her burns which should she use?

with these options at 10%. she uses magix's audio cleaning lab.alot of what she does is her mom's old records.great program,takes scratches and noise out.she can remix and edit anyway she wants but,she's only seven and gramps needs help from one of you pro's out there.

hi
i have a number of different free email accounts (please dont question why). It becomes painful to remeber all of them (userids and passwords) and keep logging in and out. It demands lot of time moreover i dont want to use a regular email client like ms outlook or outlook express etc or anything which resides on my computer. Now i want to know that is there any web based service which keeps a track of all my email addresses located at different domains and allow me to login using only one password and show me my mail from all the different email addresses of mine. This will help me when i am away from my home computer, i just open one browser window feed in only one login and password and reach all of my mail boxes.

I unplugged my wireless router for a few days and now I can't connect to the internet . What might have happened and how can I fix it? Also I didn't set it up the good fellows of the geek squad did , so I am VERY lost. But I know that my DSL is working, the computer's wireless card is on , the connection is enabled and the router appears to be putting out a signal that is fading in and out. Why would it do that?
