Not so "luckystar" eh?
You mention little of the specs of your computer so its hard to determine the best procedure to follow. You dont even state your operating system.....so, as i gaze into the cloudy heart of my crystal ball.....
For one thing i wouldn't download any clean up utility thing at this stage...it would only make things worse...leave that till later.
Not knowing what you have in ur PC...its hard to suggest upgrades. The delay experienced could be due to your graphics card....insufficient memory....slow processor speed....lack of available space on your hard drive, but then you probably know that?
A good thing to do would be to remove any tmp files....you could also remove programs from your startup routine....hopefully you have an uptodate antivirus proggy? If not get one, you may have a virus.....or you could be being pinged or monitored......
After the initial removal of unwanted files run disc fragmenter and get your remaining files in order...also run scandisk to check the integrity of your hard drive....it may have bad sectors...
So you dont have a virus...you've cleaned up your drive.... is your pc still slow? If so now you need to be thinking of adding memory and upgrading things......
If your PC is of decent spec ... i would think of saving any really important files...onto CD...and then wipe the whole thing and start again.....install your anti V directly after your operatin system.....
sorry about the lengthy reply but without knowing more i just had to include quite a few options and possibilities.
As you seem annoyed and somewhat surprised by the slow response from your pc, i deduce it used to be ok? and maybe it is a decent spec....therefore i would hint at the fact your machines hard drive is full of constant installs and trial programs and quite possibly and virus.
Next step? WIPE IT......good luck

You may also want to go into Start -> Run and type in msconfig and then go to the startup tab. In there is all the software you have loading at startup. Uncheck anything not necessary, be careful of what you remove though.

You may be having too many startup programs. Download CCleaner for free from the given link, and run it once daily to clear up the garbage on your computer. Also, go to its Tools > Auto-start, and remove everything that is unnecessary.
