well one thing you could do is buy a bigger hard drive, that would salve it. she seems to have gift with it, don't let the computer hold her back, besides thats what grandparents are for, to spoil ther grand kids ;)

you seem like a amazing grandparent, if only all could be like you.

If you want to try to free up as much space as you can on your current hard drive I would suggest a program called ccleaner. It cleans out any unnecessary/temporary files that you do not need that might have been left over from old installations of software and such. You can download it from www.ccleaner.com . Although, like someone else mentioned, you might want to consider buying a second hard drive. Hard drives are extremely affordable these days and if you are technologically inclined even in the least bit, you will be able to put in a new hard drive yourself. It is as easy as plugging in 2 cables. I recommend www.newegg.com if you are considering that option.

As far as what she should use for burning, I assume you are listing the burn speeds that are available to choose from? If so, she will only be able to burn as fast as the CD-R and drive will let her. If it says 32x on the label for the CD-Rs that she is burning to then go ahead and set it to 32x. Depending on how the program is set up, setting it to the max speed should be fine and it will just burn it as fast as it can.
