I have windows XP a legal copy that came with my Dell PC, can I istall that onto my laptop? its an emachines...

It is easy for me to land a job in sales, banks or anything that has to do with dealing with customers. It easy really fustrating, because i know that i am good as an IT employee. I have been working in the IT field for almost 2 years as a technician, but i really want to leave my department, so i am currently looking to transfer to a helpdesk department and work my way up.I really do want to skip the helpdesk stage. I am also still going to school; majoring in computer science.

Normally, I click tools, internet options, and then delete cookies, all files (including offline), and then clear history. Today, while looking at the "history," after deleting all files and clearing history, that although zero files show up, if I click "view" "by most visited," it still displays a bunch of sites, and some of which I havent visited for months. How do I completely clear all files?

This is a very generic question. I want to see if I can add a caption, and/or change the background color of an image, programmatically, or even other things. I am developing in php but would not mind finding other programming languages (python, maybe java or C), I can't seem to do a google search without dot Net popping up everywhere and I do not want to do it in dot Net. I have seen it ALL, from photographs of propped up DEAD RELATIVES, to COFFIN CAMS, to GIANT 3-STORY tall MARIONETTE GIRLS roaming the streets and caught on camera! I'd love to tell you what sites I've been on to find this stuff, and I'm sure you've found even better! Can we create a list together?

I keep getting the following error message:

To use this disc, choose the task “Erase the CD-RW”, which will format the disc so that Windows can use it.

I used to be able to copy files easily with my old computer (it had windows 2000 on it). But the cd tray broke and I brought a new computer (with Windows XP). Now I can't copy anything on to my CD-RW . I use Roxio to create CDs. But I am wondering if I have to erase all my CD-RWs in order to use them again with the new computer.
Please help?

I bought a new computer and i would like to save my folder with all my music and video to a disk or something so that i can transfer them to my new computer. how do i do this. and will I be able to open it on my new computer.

Im on my works laptop as my home pc wont start properly. Please forgive the fact that I am not very techy and need a bit of an 'idiots guide' !
I havent installed anything new software wise onto my pc but my son was downloading free music from a share ware type site and its just after this we got the problem.
When you start the pc you see a message saying
"select 'tab' to show post screen, [del] to enter setup
then it goes to another screen that is black and that has something called a PCI device listing and at the bottom of the screen it says Error loading operating system_

Ive been advised to use the mesh recovery disc but im rather embarassed to say i dont know how or what to do.
Ive called a local guy that does a mobile repair servce but he cant fit me in for weeks and who knows what he will charge so id be really grateful for some advice and maybe i can have a go myself

Most of what he's put on the CD just doesn't come up on my screen, and the text files just plain won't open . . . Also, whenever I try to use that CD in my disc drive, I can't get the door open when I go to take it out, without using a paper clip. I don't have any trouble opening and closely the door normally. Any ideas out there?

Whenever I would open a folder that contains media files, it would close. Does anyone know what's happening and how to fix it? I already try Adaware, but it didn't help. Thanks.

when i log on as a user on the family pc.. i get no sound at all, yet when other people log onto the pc under their user name the sound from the speakers is fine..i have checked the volume controls on the pc and also gone into OPEN VOLUME CONTROL and all seems to be fine HELP

Hi I use Incredimail and today I was organizing my style box. For anyone who doesn't use it, I was organizing my letters to go into the appropriate folders. While doing this I received a message stating my virtual memory was low. Incredimail has runtime folders that "clean" up unneccesary files. I hadn't "cleaned" it up in awhile. I just went and did that though. Is it possible that was what caused that message? Thank you. On and I'm running XP SP2 512 MB of ram. Oh and I just did a disc cleanup too. Could this help? Ok. So I e-mailed something to myself and then downloaded it. Then I edited it and when I went to exit, it asked me if I wanted to save the changes. I said "Ok", but I forgot that I had done this once before and was never able to retrieve the edited document. Is there any way to retrieve the edited version of the document?

what I am asking is if I press format on my c drive when I right click it will it also delete all the files I need to run the computer on the c drive becaus ethere is some files on the c drive that you need to run the computer
