It's really easy. Just unplug the power to your internet connection for a few minutes- really less than a minute. When you plug it back in, and go online, it will be different.

It depends which operating system you are using. If you are using Linux, then run the "netconfig" command and follow the prompts.
If you are using Microsoft Windows you will have to go through a strange array of deep-nested pop-up windows. Ready? Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Networks, Select your network adapter, right-click, properties, TCP/IP, select "manual" for the IP address and enter, select "manual" for the DNS and enter. Keep pressing OK until the windows disappear.
If you are using Mac OS X, then go into System Settings and Select "Network". Change the IP address and save.

Assumption - you are using broadband:
Go to Start - Run, type in CMD and OK. This will take you to a command level prompt.
Now at the dos prompt - type in ipconfig /all. Some information will come up. At the end, you should see something like:
Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Saturday, December 09, 2006 2:04:08AM
Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Sunday, December 10, 2006 2:04:08 AM
Now unplug your router / modem about 2a and plug it back in about 2:10a. (of course these times vary because your times will not be the same.). You might even need to shut everything off - or unplug the cable / connection from the modem / router as well.
Assumption: You are on dial up. Sign out - maybe reboot reboot and then sign back on.

Why do you want to change your IP address???? And why do you even care what it is???
IPs are either static or dynamic which means they can be permanently assigned to you by the ISP or each time you logon you get assigned a new one. The user is not usually impacted by this, so I again as why???

Actually, it's quite easy. You just have to go to your "Network Connections" settings from your Control Panel, right click and click on "Repair". If yours is a wireless connection, it should give you a new IP address.
If not then I guess the easiest method for a Local Area Connection is just to unplug your wire hub and replug it again.

Turn off your modem and leave it off for like 2 minutes. But if you're doing because you got IP banned from a forum or something, it won't work. Your best bet is to use a proxy.
