my driver got deleted, i dont know which sb i got since my computer doesnt recognize it, is there a universal driver i can download?

I defrag often & many times. There are no programs running (that i know of). I can leave the computer on all day & check the hard drive & it's fragmented bad again & I didn't do anything on it. What's going on?

my second time posting........keyboard wont let me type in my Office Word 2007 for an essay. message at bttom of page THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT ALLOWED BECAUSE SELECTION IS LOCKED. how do I unlock so I can type?? i tryed starting up, and I went to the help website it did not help. PLEASE help me people.... my paper is due tuesday by 8pm!!!

When I was using internet normally, the monitor suddenly lost signal, I wait for like 5 min, then decided to turn off the computer manually by pressing the power button. When I turn it back on again, there isn't any monitor signal on the screen, I took it to the repair store, they did few diagnostic and said that the motherboard was dead, I buy a new motherboard and installed it myself, now after 2 weeks of using it, I'm facing the same problem again, (the monitor suddenly lost signal...).
Anyone have any idea about this?

I say its better to turn it off every night, to save electricity and let the computer have a break and all, but my brother agrues that you should leave it on. He believes it is hard on the computer for it to have to load everything up every day. Who's right?

My computer is shutting down recently[2-3 wks. now] at least 2-3 times a day. I've run all kinds of scans & read everything I can get hold off on the subject, but nobody seems to know the answer. If I even try to play a game it shuts when I'm about 15 minutes into it. The only way I can get the power back to turn my computer on is to unplug it for a minute or so & plug it back in again.Then I have to start the sign-in process all over again as my computer is password protected.It has been in a laptop mode now for months & even the tech I had come in could not fix it or figure out why it went to laptop mode.
I have no idea how to solve this problem, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, actually, maybe they are...if I turn them up all the way...I can hear static...they work like with, media player, but things like youtube.com and myspace are mute...whats up?

I have eMachines T2865 desctop PC it has 512 MB of memory and I want to add 1GB more. I looked up the type of memory card that I have (PC-2700 DDR333 184p DIMM). Can anybody explain what those letters and numbers mean and if I would buy a PC2-5300 DDR2 240p DIMM would it work with my PC?

Ok, so I've ordered a new PC with 1GB or RAM (2x512), before I noticed the memory was 2x512 not one stick, I ordered another stick of 1GB (same speed) to put in it. Now, I assume the 2x512 are going to be running in dual channel, so will me adding a single stick force the memory to run in single channel mode or doesnt it work like that? Would that slow performance, or not noticeably as it has an extra gig? I know not the secrets of dual channel memory.

I just bought a computor off of craigslist. I paid $3,400 for it. This is my first computor. I don't know if I got ripped off or not. Ill tell you the specs on it.

128 memory
pentium 3 procecesor
dual floppy drive
It has a disk drive but it doesnt work
Do you think I could sell it for $4,000 dollars?

I was planning to upgrade my PC from WinXP SP2 to vista Ultimate. I also plan to upgrade my processor. My motherboard, though, cannot support the lastest processor. My cousin said if you replaced the motherboard and kept the hard disk, the hard disk will have problems. I just planed to upgrade my system memory, processor and videocard. The motherboard has no guarantee that it will work right with Windows Vista.

Mac is very expensive in my country and I can't find a retailer of Linux in my country.

I'm currently using a jetway K8M8MSR2 motherboard, AMD Sempron 1.6Ghz, 80GB hard drive

my old internal sata hd is not being recognized in my brand new machine. i'm pretty sure it's not the hd because the old tower didn't recognize a new hd that i purchased and installed as a new master drive, either. i don't hear any suspicious buzzes or other noises and the power cables definitely work. are there any driver i need to instal first? thnx
