posted twice need more answers??!!! keyboard locked in docs?

Question

my second time posting........keyboard wont let me type in my Office Word 2007 for an essay. message at bttom of page THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT ALLOWED BECAUSE SELECTION IS LOCKED. how do I unlock so I can type?? i tryed starting up, and I went to the help website it did not help. PLEASE help me people.... my paper is due tuesday by 8pm!!!

Try this, copy all the info on the page, then paste it in a new document. That will at least allow you to keep working.

Not an easy task, been awhile since i've seen this issue. Here's a little help:

Rename the Normal.dotm template or the Normal.dot to something else, like normal.bak. Then open word and try to open new document. see if that works.
or goto add/remove programs for word (or office) and click remove then click repair.

I don't have Word 2007 but have worked with "protected" documents in earlier versions -- we used Tools, Protect.

I just found this information which might help you. You may have accidentally "protected" a section.

"After you help to protect a document by selecting No Changes (read-only) or Comments in the Protect Document task pane, you can designate parts of the document to be unrestricted. You can also grant permission for specific individuals to change the unrestricted parts of the document."
