Well,,,,,
It kind of makes me wonder if you are serious.
You must be either very naive or you are joking.
If you are serious I think that you may want to do some research before you consider a purchase like that in the future.

As I am not to fermillier with convertion tables for dollers to pounds sterling. YES you were ripped off big time, let me explain why. standered PC at least a 40 Gig HD, 512 Memory. Proccessor OK, at least a CD-rom drive and one Floppy drive. I would say that he saw you coming I would take it back and get your money back. There is no way anyone will give you that kind of money unless there as stupid as you. How ever, I'll try and help so it will increase it's value although it may cost you a little or you may decide to keep it. If you cannot then the only way is to up grade it yourself.Ok first of all you will need a new HD at least an 80 Gig, windows XP would not go onto a 5 gig, next obtain a CD-RW or a DVD-RW,(RW- REWRITER) now you will need to upgrade your memory at leset 512 but 1 Gig would be better. Obtain a Gforce Vidio card. All these items are not difficalt to install, if you have any difficalty installing them contact me at coofooman@yahoo.co.uk and I'll help you through it all, you will have a computer that you could sell for at least $6,000 when we finish just make a note of what you buy and it's cost as this will be vital when you come to sell it if you wish to sell it of couse. HO by the way did it have monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers. if it had none of these things then I am sorry you were well and truly screwed. I personally would give it him back and have your money back then come back to me and I'll tell you what to look for OK . I know what I am talking about I build PC's for a living

No. P3s aren't really all that powerful of a processor relative to the new ones, 5Gb is a negligible harddrive size, 128 MB is insufficient RAM to run Windows XP, so you'd have to find an older OS or run Linux which limits your software compatibility. Furthermore, floppy drives are being phased out so they're not a major selling point anymore (most computers don't come with them).
I hope you're joking about this because you got seriously ripped off. If I were to give you a quote, I would probably give you less than $200 for this thing, and that'd be being generous.

What? $3400?
This thing only has 5 gig of hard drive and only 128 Meg of memory?
You can sell it for only $200, maybe...not $4000.
Send it back.

You should feel dirty and violated for getting taken like that. Two words - no Vaseline. If you can get someone to pay $4,000 for that "calculator" you need to buy a lottery ticket, because that will be your luckiest day.
Good Luck
