i wiped out everything on my pc last nigh cuz i installed the windows xp pro on my pc!!!now i cant hear anything on my pc and my old sound card is not even being recognized by the computer anymore!!!if i get a recovery cd would it go back to the same way it was???its a compaq sr1430 nx

Most common problem that occurs with PC formats. Windows XP does not include the driver for your sound card. Go to the Compaq web site (now owned by HP) and search for your computer model. You will be able to download the audio driver fro free. Once installed, your sound card wioo work again.

you just need to go online to the compaq site and down lown the drivers for your sytem for xp.
