i want to rip music videos on to my pc to put them on my ipod. can i do this even though i dont hav a dvd burner? and free software for it? thanks

Two steps involved, assuming you mean DVD of music videos you own.
1) Rip DVD to PC -- search for Ripit4Me
2) Convert the ripped stuff into stuff compatible with Ipod -- search for SUPER by eRightSoft
