after on my desktop one day it just started running real slow, after a week trying to figure out what the problem was i could not find anything, so i backed up everything and reformatted and installed a fresh copy of windows xp pro, well after 5 hrs it was finally complete still slow as it was before the reinstall. it has a pentium 2.0 ghz and 512 ram 120g hard drive and overall it is an ok computer that should run so so much faster than what it does, also i changed the hard drive with a new one after the reinstall and there was the same problem, i am thinking it might b my power supply but wouldnt it not work at all if my power supply is bad? so please tell me what is the problem with my desktop.

My computer burned out a year and a half ago, and i'm finally getting around to putting it back together. The video card is still good, and i need the drivers for it. Problem is, I forgot what kind of card it is. I'm pretty sure its a Verto, but thats the end of what i remember.

I've looked over the card pretty well to try to find something to tell me what it is, but have been unable to do so. Does anyone know of another method of finding out what kind of card it is? or is there something i can search for on the PNY website, maybe?

I copy cnc drawings to be cut out on a plasma machine, The problem is I cannot copy a large file to the floppy (it is less than 1.44 mb) If I try to copy the file using another computer at the office it works perfectly, I assumed my floppy drive was bad so I replaced it, and it still did not solve the problem, all drives are updated, why will it not work on my computer but it will on others? I am running XP (the same as the other computers)

I did a mistake of placing a Intel Pentium D on a motherboard that only supports Pentium 4 and Pentium Celeron D. So the computer doesn't do anything when i power it up. Is it possible that i burned my CPU for doing that.. Or just buying a compatible motherboard for Pentium D resolve my problems, I just don't want to buy one and know that I burned the CPU and have to buy another CPU

the fan is really noisy on my computer. we used to have another comp, and u couldnt even tell it was on. but this comp sounds like a hairdryer constantly on. its only a new comp, so i know there is nothing wrong with it. is there a way to change fans or something?..and how do i go about it?

I put the card in the smart reader to download the pictures and I erase the pictures by opening the pictures and delete them but then when I put the card back into the camera, it is still o shots to take pictures. 'why? I cannot take any picture.

i have an older pc that i would like to set up just to playolder version pc games like mechcommander. the pc has win xp pro on it right now as the windows system, and i would like to put win 98 on it. but right now it wount even run xp! when i start the pc i get a blue sceen that says "unmountable_boot_volume". and the pc wont do anything. not even in safe mode. how to i get past this message so my pc will run? thanx for any help guy! have a great weekend!

Something has really weird happened to my family computer the past few weeks. We've had around 30 GB on our hard drive and then one day it tripled. Like, it was 30 GB, but then it was saying it had 111 GB (out of 120, somewhere close to there). Even if we did download or install a new program, it wouldn't be that much. Do any of you have any explanations to explain this?

A couple of years ago, I lost 7 chapters of my novel when my hard drive crashed after a sandstorm. I had my original notes, so I retyped the lost chapters, but I have not been able to recreate the mood of those characters and settings.
