I copy cnc drawings to be cut out on a plasma machine, The problem is I cannot copy a large file to the floppy (it is less than 1.44 mb) If I try to copy the file using another computer at the office it works perfectly, I assumed my floppy drive was bad so I replaced it, and it still did not solve the problem, all drives are updated, why will it not work on my computer but it will on others? I am running XP (the same as the other computers)

No floppy disk has worked for me in years.

They're crappy technology, you should update to something more reliable. All I can offer.

It may be a problem with the ope4rating machine on the plasma machine. We had the same problem with a cnc mill. Finally had to replace the os at great cost. The manufacturers of the machines buy the cnc controls and add them sometimes they make a bad decision and you get screwed. Sometimes they use a static hard drive and it is too doesn't have enough memory to hold a program.

Try going to the device manager and uninstall the floppy drive, then reboot the computer. If that doesn't work, check the floppy's IDE hookup. It's easy to hook it up backward. The best way to tell if you do have it hooked up backward is if the floppy drive's operating light stays lit.
