How do I empty a digital camera, Olympus D-360L when still when I deleted the photos still folder is showing?

I put the card in the smart reader to download the pictures and I erase the pictures by opening the pictures and delete them but then when I put the card back into the camera, it is still o shots to take pictures. 'why? I cannot take any picture.

On my camera, I have to manually delete the photo's from the memory card each time ... I do it by reformatting the card while it is in my camera.

Alternatively, your photo program may have a choice to delete the photos when you transfer them to your computer. If not, try using Picasa2, available free from google, it has this option.

Personally, I prefer to wait and make sure my photo's transferred properly before I delete them off the card.
