Joke: get some cheese, the mouse will come back home. lol ( i had to say it)

I really don't understand what you are saying...Did you lost the physical hardware what is called the mouse, or did the mouse pointer on the screen is not there any more.

Also is it a USB (a flat head type of connector) or a PS/2 (a round head)?

Try restarting your computer, unplug the mouse and plug it back in, reinstall the mouse drivers.

The first thing you should try is disconnecting, reconnecting it and restart the computer.

If this fails a good test would be to try a different mouse as one common mouse problem is the cable tearing inside because it gets pulled on a lot.

After that, if you still have the same issue, please add more information like what you did last before it stopped working, your operating system, the type of mouse connection (PS2: small round connector, serial: trapeze shaped connector with 9 pin holes), etc.

Unplug the mouse cord from the computer. Restart the computer. Then plug the mouse cord in. Restart it again. This is the easiest way I can explain it to you.

Fancy using a computer to find a mouse. You should try cheese. All mice love cheese. Did you never watch Tom and Jerry?

(sorry, complete technophobe)

Follow the line from the computer and it should be on the other end.

Put out a glue pad.

first, determine if its a usb/ps2 port mouse, if its an usb one, plug out and plug it back in again, if its a ps2 one, do the same thing, but reboot at the end.
