Yep, it's finally happened - the hard drive crashed and I was not not prepared (idiot!)...so does anyone know of a way to rescue my PC from spyware or at least get my data back without going to the shop? Thanks everyone...

I have a compaq computer and the cd rom has stopped working. So I was wondering if i could take a cd rom out of a packard bell computer and put it in place of my compaq cd rom. Would the packard bell cd rom work in my compaq computer and if so would u explain step by step how to take the cd rom out of the packard bell and exchange it with the compaq cd rom. Please help..

screen turns blue saids something about going in to bios and stopping shadowing ive tryed restarting in safe mode it didin t work it said to unplug any new hardware i did that it didn t work . i run windows 2000 with p2 350 262ram it stops half way thru the start up menu with stop error c0000221 i tryed last known good setting it didn t work. how do i fix? i noticed problems with nortons before this happend.how to do bios?and fix or bad hardware?
