When I try to play DVDs or any films I've downloaded there is a drag in the image that makes it completely unwatchable.

Every three seconds the image pauses and it is really irritating. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Please don't answer this question unless you really know how to help me ...

Wouldn't be nice if you could transfer the core OS of your computer to a flash-rom? Windows would start up almost instantly without all the disk accessing. How come that isn't available? I know there are solid-state computers in use in some specialized applications. (like in the military) It doesn't seem like a big deal for motherboard mfg's to add a flash-rom chip that can hold say 256 megs of data. That would be enough to hold most of Windows and because it's flashable updates wouldn't be a problem.

Users on my home wireless network complain about outages, variable lag times, can't reconnect, takes too long to reconnect. I want to see what's really happening with a great log. Is the cable company or my router lagging? How many retransmitts to and from router? What is the cable bandwidth at 8 PM?

I downloaded the trialare virsion of Norton system works. The program istalled ok, i was prompted to restart and did so. Now my computer wont boot up at all. In the Bios the order of boot is 1.floppy 2 hdd 3. cd. I've changed this order a few times with no luck. I have no boot cd , my computer came loaded with Windows XP so i don't have the disk. i thought it may be trying to boot from my LAN network so i disabled that , and still no luck. i checked the size of my HDD and my capacity is 160 and there's only 136 available so I know my operating system is still there.

Can i make a boot up disk from another computer with XP ? he has no floppy drive can i do it from cd ?

Any other idea's would be greatly appreciated...

I have a Windows desktop and a MacBook Pro that I'd like to back up on a single external hard drive. The drive is compatible with both units.

I have tried this before with another external drive with similar compatibility, without doing anything special (formatting or anything). I noticed that after backing up the Mac, then the PC, I couldn't go back to the Mac files while hooked up to the Mac.

The only way I could use the drive again with the Mac was to reformat it completely.

So how do I use one compatible drive to back up both units?

I have bought two new games for my computer. Its a windows xp and it supports both games. I can play both games for a period of 10-15 minutes before it shuts my computer completely off and then restarts it. I was wondering why I can't play the games for longer then 10-15 minutes at a time??
