you will not get it back, they will hold it for evidence, and after there are done, the hard drive and computer is usually ruined...so get a new one...and let it rest...don't make any waves...

The answer is it depends on how long it takes for the FBI Computer Analysis Response Team (CART) forensic examiners need to do the forensic exam on the computer. Terrorism and counter intelligence are the priorities of the FBI (it says so even on their webpage) and they need to prioritize their exams based on the priorities of the Bureau.

Once the exam is complete, they will still keep your computer IF child pornography was discovered until the case is concluded (i.e. trial, plee out, etc..). And no, its not easy to have child porn on your computer. Its complete BS that people "Accidentally" download it. After the case is concluded, the hard drive is cleaned (i.e. wiped/erased) and you get your computer back. If, after the exam, there was no evidence of child porn on your computer, then you will get your computer back in the condition they got it since it holds no evidentiary value.

youll never get it back. the feds don't care about child porn, there is no money in it. child porn is a witch hunt since the vast majority of internet porn clips have no over 18 disclaimer, so they use it as a kind of "mail fraud" violation for whomever they want to put in jail. even the most innocent computer owner has "child porn" in their junk mail from time to time.

you won't get it back, seized hardware get conveniently 'lost'.

it will no doubt turn up at a police auction dirt cheap.

ask anyone who's ever been busted just for hacking and had everything in their home with a microchip confiscated.
