Well... Assuming you get a system with 5 PCI slots, then get 5 RAID controllers, you could, in theory (along with a big enough power supply - probaby more than one), you could get 75x750 GB hard drives - they'd never fit into a normal case - you'd probably have to custom build one. Then you can also attach 4x750 GB drives to the internal controllers - or in some systems 8x750 GB drives as a few systems have 4 IDE/ATA controllers. So that totals 83x750 GB = 62.25 TB, or about enough space for 15.5 million MP3s - or about 1.5 million different music CDs.
But then you can also connect up to 127 external USB hard drives - so add 127x750 GB = 95.25 TB - or a total of 157.5 TB. Of course, this would cost you about $95,000
It's a silly question because there's no right answer.
In your AVERAGE system you will realistically have AT MOST 4 hard drives, meaning about 3 TB if you use maximum size drives. But my home server has 6 hard drives (though most are much smaller, my home system has about 1TB over 6 drives),

The pc's that I build have as much memory as I want, or that the person that I am building it for wants.
120 GB is a pretty good round figure.
On a pc, you can have as much memory as you would like.
It is really unlimited to a point (you usually have 2 plugs on a mother board, and 2 channels for each plug which equals 4... so lets say that you had 4 300 GB Hard drives, then you would have about 1,200 GB.
I heard that a company was coming out with a TeraByte HDD (1024 GB) but it is mostly for enterprise applications such as webservers for larger corporations.

I can't say, since there are millions of different computers out there.
What you're looking for is a computer with a big "hard drive".
I think computers right now usually come with hard drives anywhere between 150GB and 300GB.
The biggest hard drive I have seen so far is 750GB. That will cost about $500!
Oh yeah, you can put more than one hard drive in a computer, too. Most computers are made to be able to take two.

ok you're perplexing all people with all your information. RAM is purely reminiscence. in case you're taking some out and bypass away some in it wont depend squat. the only component which will replace would be how briskly the computer will run. in case you're taking some out, then it is going to run courses slower than it may if it had extra RAM. Thats it. It doesnt depend if the computer is new, old, semi-new, kind new, out-of-the-container, dusty old, or despite. a clean computer will stay a clean computer in case you place extra or much less ram in it. a similar for an old computer, it's going to stay old in case you're taking or eliminate ram. purely its performance ameliorations. in case you intend to eliminate ram from a clean computer and supply the computer back they're going to observe the version. they could extremely tell and you gets fined/prosecuted. purely purchase a clean stick of ram like all people else and evade the shame, its affordable and quite truthfully worth the fee. Capisc?
