I have had several wireless mice. These days, they fall into two categories - radio wave and bluetooth. The radio wave type are the most common, least expensive ($20, as opposed to $40-$50 for bluetooth type), but have some problems. First of all, if a microwave is nearby, or other user with a wireless mouse on the same radio frequency, your mouse can act very unpredictable. Also, if you don't keep the receiver at a reasonably close distance or height with the mouse, you can get some slow point response time. The bluetooth models are much more reliable and can operate from a longer distance from the receiver.

Do wireless mice act up? Sometimes they do. The batteries get low or they get out of sync with the mouse signal sender and you have to push them little buttons to sync them back up..

But good wireless mice have a stand you can charge them and never need new batteries.

Like many computer parts, if you buy cheap sheep, you get cheap sheep. If you buy a good one, they work great.

The bluetooth models do get out of sync more than the regular rf ones though.

Everything has their demons, it depends on which one you get. Ask a more specific question to get reviews. Mostly, the only problem pple have with wireless mice is that some of them eat batteries like their cheezits.

Mine haven't so far. One of em requires batteries, and it goes squirrelly when the batteries go bad, but the manual said that would occur so I don't consider that a design flaw.

Their only trouble, as far as I can see, is when the batteries are low. So just keep some spare batteries at hands. The real trouble is that you don't have spare batteries when needed.

Just keep them off the funky cheese and make sure they are locked up at night so that they can't get out and paint the town red.
