You may need to flash the BIOS and don't forget to install the drivers that came with the motherboard first before hooking other stuff up to it

Dave, I would first open the cabinet and make sure all the connectors and cables are securely attached. Inside the case, if there ain't a physical connection, there ain't a connection.

did you ever tried to check your motherboard if it is no defective. maybe you should troubleshoot it first before you try to change or to make some renual of the parts hardware. so that you will easy to know if your motherboard has a defect. then if it is.. change your motherboard according to compatibility of your parts hardware.

Do you mean your BIOS is not finding cd/dvd drives/hard drives ect if so the hard drive jumper should be set to master the cd/dvd drive to slave if on same IDE cable if hd with master on same IDE 1st master 2nd slave or no jumper if cd/dvd on IDE 2 cd/dvd master hd slave or no jumper BIOS setting to Auto Detect smart enabled,boot sequence 1 cd/dvd drive 2 floppy 3 hard drive
