um, i have a stupid question (NOBODY POINT THAT OUT) but i have two computers. one of them if four years old and is an eMachine. the other is less than a year old and is a Cisnet. i think that the power pack in the eMachine is dead. i KNOW its not the HD. but i wanna try an get some of the stuff off it. can i put that HD in the Cisnet? if i cant, then tell me how to get my stuff off of it. that is, if its even possible to do w/out the eMachine on and functional.

Question is self explanator. There used to be the Giga-byte QuadRoyal SLI board, but for some reason it has been taken off the market. I'm not sure why.

my office computer specs:
processor: intel pentium 4 cpu 2.80 Ghz
memory: 1024 mb ram
graphic card: 128mb nvidia geforce4 MX 4000
harddrive: c = 20gb, d = 20gb, e = 40gb

i mainly use graphic programs like photoshop and illustrator.
my boss wants crystal crisp images to the smallest detail.
what hardware should i upgrade to have faster transitions on images and able to handle bigger resolution images that won't slow down my pc.

I had connected a hardisk to my PC as slave, although everything seems fine, but in the 'My Computer' or in Explorer, I'm not able to view its drives. I'm using Windows XP SP2. In the Device Manager I looked and everything was fine. But I can't locate the drives. Please help!

I am having problems burning disks using my internal Sony DRU-710A Dual Layer DVD RW drive. For example, I just burned a 4.7 GB disk with Nero and received confirmation that the disk creation was successful. (Media I used was Verbatim DVD-R 16x disks; I've also had the same problem with Maxell DVD +R 8x disks) However, when went to verify the contents of the disk in Windows Explorer by double-clicking on "CD Drive (D:)" nothing is showing up in the area where files should be located. The details show CD Drive (D:) with Free Space: 0 bytes Total Size: 0 bytes.

I tried to burn a DVD slide show onto the same Verbatim & Maxell disks using ImgBurn. Same story: successful burn, but no data.

The latest drivers from Sony for the 710A are installed and the drive is able to recognize a backup DVD-RW I created using the same Nero Burning ROM 6 SE earlier this year. I just installed ImgBurn per suggestion of ProShow forum users, but have not successfully burned a DVD yet.

My laptop's CD/DVD-RW drive has been acting really funny. I'd call someone to fix my computer but it's strange that it just happened all of a sudden. Whenever I put a CD or DVD in the drive, the computer makes a weird humming noise like it's trying to read the disk and then gives up. The computer then says that there isn't anything in the drive. I don't know if I need to repair the drive or if it's something I can fix myself.

i just had a used "mass storage device" gave to me. when i plugged it in it installed fine but when i try to open anything in it itsays files are corrupt and unreadable.i dont care whats on it now but is there any way to wipe it clean so i can use it,or is it trash? its a iomega,128mb mini drive if that helps.

I was playing a game the other night, my comp. froze, there were blue wavy lines on the screen and a "ticking" noise from the speakers. Rebooted. Now, my computer turns on but there's no image on the screen, just blackness. Not even the BIOS info. shows up. Checked monitor, it's fine (brand new). Disconnected & reconnected/reseated all cables, RAM chips, & PCI/video card. Nothing. The computer turns on fine but still no image. It sounds like the hard drive is spinning up just fine. I have an older GeForce4 4600 AGP card (going on 4 yrs. old) What do you think is wrong?
