concentrate on the capture card, not the motherboard.
Make sure it has firewire.
ATI makes the best in my opinion.

There are a lot of nice motherboards out there, Gigabyte, Asus, etc. You'll need a firewire card to capture video from a video camera, these are about $50 here (Au dollars) and a great investment. I have one. A firewire card would be equally good in any good PC. Good Luck!

I agree with the other answers.. your primary concern should be the video capture board, not the motherboard. In broad terms, the more you spend, the more performance you get, but not always. Check hardware review sites like tomshardware.com or hardocp.com and pick one that'll fit your needs.
