i. upgrade ram from 1 gb to 2 gb

NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GPU

possibly u can add this card to existing card
- either in pci / agp slot, check it out
iii. use a programme to keep u'r software / programmes / hard disk / files in shape, 'system mechanic' from iolo

Your system looks pretty good. What you can do is get two video cards. This is called the SLI system, when you have two video cards working together. You will have to research which video cards are SLI enabled. I would get two 256mb Cards. Also make sure the power supply can handle it. Also, you may want to upgrade memory. 1 Gb of ram is usually enough, but if you can get another 1 GB, this would help. And finaly, you can try getting a better Display. i don't think you need any more Hard Drive space or increasing the CPU speed.

I would say that the video card would be the place to start. Move up to a 256MB or more video card and stick with nVidia. Next I might say that you might consider a new hard drive system ,2- Western Digital "Raptors" @74.5GB each SATA run them in a RAID.As long as the motherboard will handle it. They are super fast 10,000 rpm's. If it doesn't have a RAID you can get a PCI adapter for that purpose. Another 1024MB of memory won't hurt either, if the motherboard will handle it.

I work with graphics alot especially the CS2 package. I recomend throwing in an additional 1024mb of RAM. Also check what kind of RAM your computer can support. If it does, get DDR2 533mhz. The higher the mhz speed the better the RAM will process the files. The faster hard drives will help and if you inrease the amount of RAM you can reduce your page file size since the computer will use the RAM instead of the hard drive for better speeds.

Yup go no lower than a 256 video card and bump the RAM up to 2 gigs :-)

I'd say go to 2gb ram (if you can) and a higher mem (512 or higher) graphics card.
