could someone be connecting remotely? do you see a symbol "vnc" by your clock on the lower right? That is one remote access program. Also, is it optical? mine moves all over the screen when the table is shaky and i am using my optical mouse. Otherwise give more details, disconnect from the net to check the first option of someone remotely connected and trying to mess with you. We learned about that in networking class and one buddy loved to play tricks on his brother with it.

If your mouse is wireless, than there is interference. If it is wired, then the desk or mosuepad is crooked. There is a piece of shiny thing on the optical laser moving the cursor there is a bug in the mouse moving the ball.

Did you sparkling the tiny rollers contained in the case when you took the ball out? in case you take advantage of a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol you could get rid of the white stuff that gathers around the tiny rollers. Makes a distinction. desire that permits.

If the mouse uses an infra red laser, then glancing sunlight can interfere with it. Close the curtains.
