I have a question about LCD drivers. Are they really much different than CRT drivers?

I'v e had my LCD monitor for around 18 months. In the past couple of days something very odd has started happening. After it's been on around 10-20 minutes, it starts to flicker occasionally. Then after another minute or two, small black lines (about 5mm long) shoot horizontally across the screen. Then things go rapidly VERY wrong. You know how a TV picture kind of goes up and down when it's slightly out of tune? It does that for a while, then it gets all pixellated and weird. Basically it's unusable. I've checked all the cables and stuff, and it's not me video card. Anyone got any ideas? I really don't want to fork out for a new one.

Hello,

Does anybody know a computer screen brand that makes your eyes less tired and painfull to watch than traditional screens?

My eyes feel sore from working behind it 12hrs a day. I take constant breaks and keep the brightness of my laptop screen relatively low. I want to know if there are any technical ways I can decrease eye soreness from computer screens.

Thanks in advance

..."farther" than pixels are even smaller lights, like RGB colors

(similar to: http://www.spectroscopynow.com/ftp_images/Pixels_3.jpg)

My question is, are these RGB "background pixels" full, solid, and all perfect, or do they have minor imperfections, but are too small to notice/affect the actual image produced by the monitor (the one you see from 2/3 ft. away?

Thanks for your time.

I have a home theater set up. It uses a heavily shield vga cable to the dlp projector.

I have been thinking about upgrading it to dvi with the new vid card that I picked up that has both.

I hate to buy a dvi 50' cause it will cost me close to a hundred bucks at that length.

I have seen dvi to vga connectors that can be used to send a signal to an analog monitor.

My question is if I used to of these, one one each end of the vga cable, and connected them to the dvi ports on computer and the projector. Would it carry the digital signal across?

I recently bought a samsung 22 inch 226BW monitor, its a great monitor and is working fine except at times when I play games I'd notice some horizontal flickering, its not too major but it is noticable and kinda distorts the image.

I didn't think a monitor with a 2 m/s response time would actually lag so I called samsung and there sending me a refurbished replacement...........I'm just abit worried though coz this monitor is still pretty much brand new and I've never had a refurbished product........Im just thinking in that case maybe I should of bought a refurbished monitor to start with rather then buy a new one and have it replaced with a refurbished...
Opinions would be nice cheers..

Thanks in advance....

One of my kids either threw something at it or jabbed something into it and I was wondering if it could be repaired.

In March I took my computer in(virus etc) That was when the time changed. We brought it back and it didn't change it. I left it there for a long time. Then I changed it. Now it keeps goin back an hour. It's not even November 4th yet. It did it the first time, like a month ago or something. What the hell is goin on? I changed it once, never touched it. It does it on it's own. I see it stays the same for a while, then I barely notice and it changes!

yes, i need a new one. I have a dead pixel. i've tried all the ways to fix it myself. i tried screen flashing videos, rubbing the screen and all that. I already know how to take off the Glass Plate, i use a toilet plunger (don't worry, it's clean). I was planning on going to the apple store (again. i already went there once, and they didn't want to exchange it for me) and i'll ask them to simply swap out the screen with one of the 'flawless' ones they have on display. it doesn't void the warranty, and if i know what I'm doing they should let me do it.

I've had a recent problem with my mouse being able to break the extreme borders of the desktop (occasionally left, sometimes right); I've adjusted my monitor, an E176FP flatscreen from Dell, to appropriate settings (res 1280x1024x32, refresh rate at 60), but my mouse is still able to head off the screen (taking its time getting back).
The problem is irritating, and support hasn't been able to troubleshoot my problem.

I had it saved on my computer in color and did some changes, and basically turned it into a B&W. I would like to restore it to its original color. Is it possible, and how?

I recently moved dorms so of course I had to pack up and move my computer, but since Im in this new room, my monitor seems to flicker, and its not the flickering of going to black and then back on but it seems to flicker with whats on the screen. Its like a slight ripple and almost makes me think of a power problem but my power supply has been upgraded just recently and is MORE than what I need.

Ive changed the plugs etc around and no luck. I was curious what could be causing this and how to fix it. TIA and all the best, Jon

OKay.. Heres whats wrong with my home - built gaming computer.

The first motherboard I bought was D.O.A. and would not even make the lights of the case turn on. I got a replacement. This one, atleast turns my computer on and makes the lights and fans move BUT it will not send a signal to my monitor. The board has an onboard NVidia 6100 card that I tried, but I also tried my own working video card. Still No signal to my WORKING monitor. Heres a list of parts I KNOW work ...

RAM, Monitor, Vid Card, Power Supply, Monitor Cable

Someone told me I may need to flash the bios on my board by using a less powerful processor. I currently have an AM2 dual core on a compatible Jetway board with 1 Gig of RAM.

I need to know HOW to flash the bios with a different processor, if I even need to use a different processor, or ANY other suggestions of what my problem might be. There is no beeping sound, just FYI.
