yes, i need a new one. I have a dead pixel. i've tried all the ways to fix it myself. i tried screen flashing videos, rubbing the screen and all that. I already know how to take off the Glass Plate, i use a toilet plunger (don't worry, it's clean). I was planning on going to the apple store (again. i already went there once, and they didn't want to exchange it for me) and i'll ask them to simply swap out the screen with one of the 'flawless' ones they have on display. it doesn't void the warranty, and if i know what I'm doing they should let me do it.

mac is highly proprietary, if they don't do the work on your machine, they will not warrant the work or the machine when you are done. You would do better to just get a new monitor. Probably cost about the same.
