A standard VGA cable should work.

Make sure that the resolution is set to the native resolution if the panel - 1280 by 1024 - and the refresh rate set to 60 Hz, for the best image.

If you have a DVI connector on your system (white instead of blue) then you are better off getting a DVI-D cable (you only need a single link cable if they offer single or double link)

You will get a slightly better image quality with DVI.

I was looking for the monitor manual so that I could see more but didn't have any luck.

Go to the wikipedia link below and see if the plug on your LCD monitor matches one of the DVI and if so, WHICH ONE.

Make a note of it and then check your video card connection on the back to see which one it matches between the two links below:

Hi According to the spec for your monitor:

15-pin D-Sub port, Analog RGB input

So you need a VGA cable.

Buy a DVI cable. 95% of monitors now support both. It sounds like the cable from your old computer (most likley a serial one) doesnt fit your new monitor.
