I would say that you have a widescreen monitor , if the settings on the desktop .. rclick desktop > properties > settings .
change the screen size to what the monitor suggest or just have a look thru , and see which one works , and looks right , I have a widescreen monitor , and the settings are relevant to the monitor , but preview on makes pix look stretched to , there is no fix for this , but try changing the screen sizes
