I own a Sony laptop, VAIO VGN-TX17GP laptop. I formatted its hard drive and reinstalled Windows on the device, but now I cannot install its drivers. I downloaded all the driver files form this website: http://www.css.ap.sony.com/vaio/website/General/DownloadList.aspx?Model=VGN-TX17GP, but when I try to execute the files, they pop up error messages saying the software is not suitable for my computer model. What can I do?

I am looking to purchase a laptop, but have a quick question. Which would be more favorable (in terms of both processing power and power consumption)? An AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-60(2.0GHz/1MB L2 Cache) or an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600(1.83GHz/2MB L2Cache)?

Lately, my battery indicator LED light (I think that’s what it is called…) on my Dell XPS M140 laptop has been flashing amber repeatedly about twice a week. I leave the laptop plugged in most of the time and sometimes it will just start flashing amber. If I unplug it and plug it in again, it stops. I even took the battery out once to make sure the number wasn’t on a recall list. When I put it back in, the flashing stopped only to act up again a week or so later.Oh, and the laptop is only a year old (of course the warranty is up...). ;)

I have no experience in anything like this, so please leave some advice in as limited of technical terms as possible. :) Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to TEMPORARILY have my computer break or crash that can then be fixed very easily by someone who knows computers? Or have some program not run properly. Anything that would require attention but can be fixed very easily

I just purchased a new acer notebook. It has vista, and I already added a network. It acknowledges the network, but when I try to connect, it says "The connection to 'xxxxxx' was cancelled" this might be due to timeout or user actions' and whenever I try to diagnose the problem. Please help, it's driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!

I am soon heading to college and need to invest on a laptop. but im having problems on deciding. i know that i want a HP but dont know wether it should be a AMD processor or the Intel core duo. i am not much of a gamer so i will mostly be using the laptop for research, papers, music, photos and just surfing the net. can someone please clear it up for me and tell me which is better for those applications so hopefully i can save some money.

I'm trying to decide between two laptops; a Compaq Presario V2000 and an IBM Thinkpad T41. Both are light with a great screen (14" Wide on Compaq and regular 14" on IBM) One gig of Memory (2700 DDR on both) and an 80 gig Hard drive on each laptop. I'd be using the laptop mostly for school. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
