I own a Sony laptop, VAIO VGN-TX17GP laptop. I formatted its hard drive and reinstalled Windows on the device, but now I cannot install its drivers. I downloaded all the driver files form this website: http://www.css.ap.sony.com/vaio/website/General/DownloadList.aspx?Model=VGN-TX17GP, but when I try to execute the files, they pop up error messages saying the software is not suitable for my computer model. What can I do?

I don't have recovery media. I found the drivers in Sony website, but when I try to install them, I get an error saying: the software is not valid for my computer model.

This is a model that was origionally sold in asia and you can find the drivers for it on Sony Taiwan, but I cant read chinese so you will need to find them yourself. Sorry....

The drivers you downloaded are for the VGN-TX1 series, not your specific model.

IF you have restore disks that came with the computer then use these to restore your computer. If you do not have restore disks then call Sony and see if they can send you a set. If all else fails you could install a fresh copy ow Windows XP ... once installed it will probably find all of the hardware on your computer.
