I am soon heading to college and need to invest on a laptop. but im having problems on deciding. i know that i want a HP but dont know wether it should be a AMD processor or the Intel core duo. i am not much of a gamer so i will mostly be using the laptop for research, papers, music, photos and just surfing the net. can someone please clear it up for me and tell me which is better for those applications so hopefully i can save some money.

Your choice is either a multimedia laptop or a Tablet PC (if you enjoy drawing/writing instead of typing)

Consider your budget, your major, and how you plan to put the laptop to use. Will you be moving around a lot (classes, lecture halls, coffee shops), or mostly using it in the dorm/library? Then, weight might also be something to consider.

You'll also want something that will probably last the entire 4 years of your study - so don't skimp out on performance.

I'd say a Core 2 Duo (between 2 and 2.5 GHz), with 2 GB of RAM and 15 to 17 inch screen (so you don't have to squint your eyes). High capacity cell battery, or even two would ensure you don't have to worry about being close to a power plug all the time!

get one with a intel core 2 duo. Also make sure it has 1gb or more of memory. Look at this laptop. Its small so it will be easy 2 bring around with u.

Instead of an HP laptop, you should get a Toshiba laptop.

You should get a tablet PC

I recommend a AMD Processor, it is waY better than Intel. Not that expensive,
but if you think that is expensive, consider this one,
