i broke the screen to my HP laptop and now theres a line through it and it freaks out at times but it is workable to use and when the colors change and freak it wont allow me to do anything? whats my problem? i need the computer to finish a project for next week...

Well the quick solution is to use an external monitor with it until you have time to get the screen replaced.. LCDs cant generally be "fixed" they normally get replaced. Sometimes the cost for that is beyond the economic value of the machine.

Just plug in an external monitor and finish your project. If you need the screen in order to make a presentation... well bummer.

I am real handy with a screwdriver, so what I would do is purchase a replacement LCD display panel on eBay and replace the broken one. I do it all the time, but I get like $200 for the labor, so it might cost $300 including the part. Make sure you get the right one, but it only takes an hour or two once the LCD arrives. Until then, use a monitor. Warranty almost NEVER covers a broken LCD, either.

That Screen is tost Get a new laptop or see if the manf can replace it under warenty

Pull out your HDD and hope a friend has a HP laptop or you can use an external moniter

the only thing you can do is hook up a external monitor so you can finish your project .and then after that you will have to send it back to hp to be repaired

send it back to manfacture and ask them to replace it
