There is more than one operating systems out there you know.. Microsoft is not the be all and end all of computer operating systems, Microsoft is just a small cog in a big wheel of computer operating systems.....

Now You would never have heard of the Apple Mac had it not been for the fact that they started putting intel chips (CPU's) in their computers a couple of years back, Now they have done that they are getting more popular, only because they can now run MS windows, now here is where your education begins.

In the old days of computing every company had their own operating system that gave them protection cause once you had bought the system you was tied to that company,

The Apple Mac runs off Unix programing language, and that was not very popular with the home user, cause it was very expensive, only companies could afford to buy, the mac and it's software, now the mac has a Intel chip in it, it as come down in price, but it is still a very expensive system for what is is. and your still tied to the company once you have bought your computer.

Now there is another operating system that will do more than the mac OS/X and microsoft operating system put together it is called LINUX

Linux cost you nothing. it is FREE. you can download it and put it on as many computers as you like, you also get all the software you will ever need.... FREE.

so buy your laptop without an operating system and install any version of linux you like for NOTHING it will run windows, should you want to stay with it

Educate yourself do some research in to the linux world of computing... do a web search

Dell+linux
Ibm+linux
Intel+linux
