I have an Acer Aspire 3620 laptop and lately all my DVD players have stopped working on it. I have VLC, Windows Media, and PowerDVD players, and all of them are skipping both audio and video. My DVDs work fine on my TV, so it's definitely not the disks. The laptop is only 4 months old (and under warranty) and everything worked fine until very recently.

Could it be a problem with my decoder / driver? WMP sometimes tells me to install a decoder, but I thought I already had one?

I love Dell and I am enrolling in college this fall so I have been looking at laptops and I was wondering if Dell will introduce a new line of laptops this spring or summer. I think it would be logical due to the opening of Windows Vista and they can make a profit in the spring and summer off of incoming college freshman buying laptops. The Inspirons seem nice...but I dont like the plain silver design...I was hoping for a new model that would be black and much more upgradable in regards to processor speed and allowable memory. Thanks for the help!

ok i forgot to include some information in my last question that people were telling me to do...So i'll try again!

My laptop is freezing either at the windows logo on startup, or at random times when trying to reinstall windows. I've tried booting in safe mode, and it still freezes. I've run a memory test and it came out ok. I ran a hard drive test and it froze. I replaced the hard drive and ran the hard drive test and it froze. It also freezes on any restart (screen stays black)

my idea of what is wrong is the hard drive controller. If it is that is there a way to replace just that, or is it something else?

ok my friend has a laptop and he has a 60 GB harddrive on it and he has two profiles and a cupple of pic he runs less programs then I do and my harddrive is not full but i have a 80GB and i only got 13.8 GB used on my harddrive he only has 1.2gb left on his tell me what is going on with his computer

Sometime my laptop will shut off automatically, most time happen while the virus/spyware scan was running and also when the CPU usage reach 100%....

I can't figure out is when the CPU reach 100% steadily (I didn't run lot of applications), is cause by virus or simply because CPU over-heat?

and my laptop shut down automatically is because of too much dust blocking the fan system, or because there's error in system, or simply because the CPU has overload?

When I press "e" I get "re" or "er"
When I press "d" I get "df" or "fd"
When I press "c" I get "cv" or "vc"

I noticed in Word that when I press "t" it opens the "Save As" option. I am sure other strange commands are connected to single letters now, too.

What in the world has happened? The laptop just started doing this upon boot tonight? No problems for a year with it at all..

Ok, i have recently purchased a new laptop (acer aspire series 3680) and gotten a new phone (nokia 6133) but i cant seem to find my phone from my computer... when i search from the computer it says:
"Windows cannot find any Bluetooth devices. Make sure that your Bluetooth radio is attached to your computer and is turned on, and that your Bluetooth device is turned on. Follow the setup instructions that came with the device, and then click Search Again."

also i cant turn disvoevery on for my computer to be found... what is up with that? wat is a radio antena? any help plz! thanks
