When I press "e" I get "re" or "er"
When I press "d" I get "df" or "fd"
When I press "c" I get "cv" or "vc"

I noticed in Word that when I press "t" it opens the "Save As" option. I am sure other strange commands are connected to single letters now, too.

What in the world has happened? The laptop just started doing this upon boot tonight? No problems for a year with it at all..

Any suggestions? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

You probably have a button that is stuck such as the Fn, alt, ctrl, or windows keys. You should pop them off with something flat and not-sharp, think a butter knife. And then reconnect them. Hopefully this will fix your problem.

bypass intoo the keyboard ideas and examine the keyboard repeat cost - turn it down somewhat and note if that enables. even if it truly is merely a million key think ofyou've got a 'sticky key' via junk (probable nutrition) stuck lower than it. heavily eliminate key (in case you could competently) and sparkling lower than it.

run several type scans for virus, trojans or other malware you may have gotten. i suggest using avg free, spybot, norton, adaware, spydoctor, or any of a number of free scanning software available online. it sounds to me like you picked up something from somewhere and by booting up today, it was launched. it may have been there for weeks or even months, or just yesterday. if you don't have up to date scanning software, whether free or purchased, a simple program could have been put on your laptop when you were online.
if you have software, it may be a technical malfuntion, but run the scans first before having your system checked.

Well it is possible that your keyboard is messed up. You might have to buy a new keyboard for your laptop. they are not much you can go on ebay and get one bet $25-40. if you dont know how to install a keyboard you should take it to a technician.

Your "Windows" button is probably jammed, or Ctrl or something like that.
