Get the program System Mechanic, made by iolo. Its truly a great program and help in many ways. You can also go to add/remove programs in the control panel and delete the programs that you do not wish to use any more. Another good step would be to open my computer, right click on you hard disk(usually drive C:\), go to the tools tab, and say defragment. This will order all the files to make the system faster.

Buy more memory for it. You need at least a gigabyte of memory for the new games and video.

Also defragment your drive. When you delete programs you leave big holes that takes time for the computer get past when you call up something.

Run a virus and/or spyware scan.

Delete the programs you rarely use...especially the large ones. You can do that in the add/remove programs in the control panel. Then run a cleanup.

I found that "Norton SystemWorks" works the best for me. It has everything you need plus it finds any errors on your system that could cause a slowdown.

About the only thing on a laptop that you can add to it is RAM. The RAM will help with system speed by allowing you to multitask and give large programs enough room to run smoothly. The other things you can do to improve speed is to delete any programs that you aren't using or going to use anymore. To do this go to "Start" "Control Panel" then click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. Click the programs from the list and remove those that you won't use anymore.

Second, run your disk clean-up. Double click on your "My Computer" right click your hard drive and select properties. Under the General tab there is a button that say's disk cleanup. Click on it an run it.

Third, run an antivirus and anti-spyware to get rid of even more things that can be using your speed up!

Lastly, run a disk defragment. Click on start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk defragment. Click on the "Defragment" button and let it run.

Thanks,
Charlie

Go faster? Toss it out the window will make it go faster..

But I assume you mean not to do this. So, you should add more info for us, like the model, processor, RAM.. some basics. What kind of connection you have to the internet.

Cant give no info without info.
