I love Dell and I am enrolling in college this fall so I have been looking at laptops and I was wondering if Dell will introduce a new line of laptops this spring or summer. I think it would be logical due to the opening of Windows Vista and they can make a profit in the spring and summer off of incoming college freshman buying laptops. The Inspirons seem nice...but I dont like the plain silver design...I was hoping for a new model that would be black and much more upgradable in regards to processor speed and allowable memory. Thanks for the help!

I also have noticed a trend in the prices for dell laptops. They have been getting lower and lower and lower...to me this hints that dell might be getting ready for a new laptop line but who knows. Please help?

If you can do market research, figure out when Dell thinks there are enough suckers to make a nice profie on a new model line.

Who cares ? My company gave me a Dell Latt D620 and it's a real doorstop. The CPU specs are fast, but the memory and disk are really slow & cheap. The thing is thick and heavy, and the keyboard and display are inferior. It appears to me that Dell puts in cheap components wherever people are unlikely to look for them on a spec sheet.
My 2yo IBM T42 is only 10% slower in benchmarks (the CPU clock is 25% slower, but has fast memory&disk) and is far better in every way.
I think *some* HPs are pretty nice too (some have crummy KBs) , no opinion on Lenova.

yea i sure believe tht DELL should be coming out wit new laptops! but i wouldnt really recommend a DELL laptop, have u heard bout when DELL battery exploded??? even tho i own one. lol i will prefer a HP laptop!
