Just formatted my laptop, then i noticed that the hardware driver cd that came from the dealer of my laptop was full of scratch. First I was able to install some drivers and programs, but then suddenly my laptop can't detect the dvd r-w of my laptop. When i checked the device manager it says my DVD R-W is corrupted, tried troubleshooting it but no luck it did not worked. tried reinstalling the driver but it seems the hardware CD that came with the laptop is CORRUPTED too. cant find any drivers in the internet... what should I do?? the store where I bought my laptop closed last year ago... what shoul I do?? im desperately in need of help >.<

I HAVE A LAPTOP OF 256 MB RAM SIZE BUT WHEN I CHECK IN THE SYSTEM OF CONTROL PANEL , IT SHOWS ONLY 240 MB, HOW? and in the cmos setup ,it still shows 240 mb ram size only, why is it so ?

I'll shortly be getting a new laptop to replace one I've had a couple of years, both are running WinXP. I want to transfer all of my applications and data to the new laptop without having to reinstall and reconfigure everything. Is there a way to migrate all the data? I have a backup drive and I thought of taking a drive image from the old laptop and copying it to the new laptop, but I don't know if there will be any issues due to the fact the hardware on both is completely different. Will XP work out its on different hardware on startup and find the correct hardware drivers itself??

I have been for at least 2 years now waking with ,my hair wet under and my nite shirt wet .Im 42 having my periods every month but very heavy ,Been to doctor they say im 10 years away from the change ,ok then what do you think is going on ?This makes me very unhappy waking like this ,and I have been dehydrated lately anyway ,shirt being his wet worse than a major work out ,Help Please any advise ?

Does waiting to recharge a battery (cell-phone, laptop, etc...)untill it's charge is fully depleted, or almost fully depleted, have any affect, beneficial or detrimental, on the battery's length of overall life or it's ability to hold a charge? Compared to recharging whenever convenient, such as overnight, even if not necessary.

I dropped my Gateway notebook a few weeks ago, and now I need to replace my cdrw/dvd drive. I've already tried re-installing the drives and that didn't work..When looking for a new drive are there specific requirements my system needs, or will any cdrw/dvd drive work? Are they really expensive and difficult to install? I need as much info as possible. Thanks
