Absolutely not. Not only do you have to deal with a company that loves to not comply with standards, you also get an extremely low-performance and overpriced system and have to deal with OSX.

I'm not a computer nerd or anything but I have the MacBook Pro and I have to say "Once you go Mac, you never go back" It's so fast, efficient, the laptop as well as the OSX all are easy on the eyes. My brother has a PC and since I've had thi one (9 months) hes gotten 3 viruses, my mac 0. Doesn't freeze up on you like a PC would, and even if it did it restarts in seconds! Plus it comes with cool software and all these cool little features. The prie is GREAt for what you get, I would have gotten the Macbook thats 1000 bucks instead of this one thats 2000 except it came out right after I got this one since I dont need it for really sopisticated stuff. Anyways good luck and you won't be sorry, trust me!

It's good for using it on the go, comes with built-in wireless card, just select a network and join. Installing programs is easy, either they install themselves or just drag and drop.

Macs are very secure, you don't have to worry about viruses or anything as much as on a PC.

They are quick and easy to use, might take a bit to get used to if you've been a Windows user for awhile, but you will grow to love it.

Macs are just overall very sexy to look at lol. And with the new Intel chips they run even better, and can support the newest games. The downside though is that most developers focus on PCs rather than Macs, so it's a little tough to find games.

Just got my Macbook Pro (17inch) yesterday, and so far so good. I have the glossy screen and it's amazing. The screen is very easy to look at, doesn't bother my eyes like other screens. The keyboard is nice and quiet too. I can't even here the computer running it's so quiet, I love it.

well, jkomets is an idiot, lets establish that...Dell does not comply with standards, i don't even think they own standards...Mac is top of the line, they can do it all, even run Windows better than a PC =) i've seen it and have used Windows on a Mac, you'd swear it was a PC...Mac can run Microsoft Office applications better than Windows can, with a better look and more efficiency....listen to g00dapple, she knows what she's talking about...they run faster, are a thousand times safer than a PC, and with a Mac, the constant freezing and shutting down of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player does not exist on the Mac OS X =)....while rather pricey, the MacBook will not let you down...if it does, you can come find me and punch me in the face...if it doesn't you can punch a Dell fan =)
