Hi, absolutely no. Even my laptop is ON for 24 hrs (i give it rest on sundays night!!). For last 2 years its like that nothing to worry.
Make sure if you keep you computer connected to internet then protect it with GOOD firewall and antivirus.
I use firewall : Zone Alarm (Best i ever tried)
Antivirus : Computer Associate
Both are freely downlodable and have good reputation.
Need help to know how and where to download let me know.

If this is something u do often, and your computer is used mainly for home, then yes this is going to harm the harddrive, it could overwork it and fry it (Like it did to my brothers because he dled at night to). If I were you, either download one thing at a time, or dont dled so much in a sitting. Like, if its going to tbe a 12 hour dled, dled today, but then give it a few days before dling someting else.

Make sure that you have a good anti virus program installed and have an active scan setting for downloaded files. As for damage to your hard drive, make sure that all case fans are clear, running and free of outside obstructions. Heat is the number one killer of computers. There is also Hard drive cooling fans that can be installed for little money.

It's fine, the life of the HD will most of the time be longer than the life of the computer. (Unless you bought a super cheap HD I guess)
If your worried, I'd just backup important information which you should be doing already anyway.
And incase it matters, My computer here is on 24/7/365. They always have been as most double as a server.

the 1st factor i does not go away a pc on together as i"m dozing for 4-6 hours , i"m no longer pointing out that no longer something will take place in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it purely that case that it would overheat , ants getting interior the laptop a number of them will fried up lots will avert that direction and make issues worst for the laptop, i"m attempting to be real approximately it we can't purely say it does not overheat or ants reason no broken, one couple concept that the small heater if knock over the holiday sensor would kick in turning the heater off, they have been incorrect.

-You should see if your download manager is doing a good job. It should automatically connect if the connection drops, resume download, and as you choose it should shut down the computer automatically as the download/s is over.
You can find all of the above functions in FDM
-and of course you can turn off your monitor as it is not required during unattended downloads

I leave all (4) of my computers at home/office on 24/7/365 ... this is perfectly normal ... I haven't seen any problems ...
... but, you are testing the integrity of your computer's fans and cooling equipment if you have those installed.

No, computers can be left on for long periods -- I generally leave mine on all the time so that my antivirus and antispyware programs can download updates and run scans overnight. Just make sure you have AV, ASW, and firewall.

It is safe, but only as long as your cabinet has plenty of air circulation. but, it would be good if u restarted it once very 3-4 days (just to prevent windows from crashing).
