Any sharing of experiences or references to effectiveness, reliability, and other performance standards of Acer laptops, generally, would be equally appreciated. I am poised to choose between Compad and Acer, the latter seemingly offering a better mix of price and expected performance.

i was going threw my programs and i found something i thought was unneeded so i deleted it but it turns out what i deleted was the sound component so now there is no sound but there is a beep how do i get it back? if i reboott my computer will it come back? plz help

But it sure can burn CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW. It keep saying "try another CD or another brand ... etc". The worst part is the disc (CD-R) is being damaged everytime it failed to burn.
My notebook is a QOSMIO-G20 from Toshiba.

I have a dell inspiron laptop. I am unsure if it is on a goofy setting or not, but if i scroll the mouse and it sits on something for like 2 seconds, it automatically clicks on it.

I have the touchpad mouse and this happens most of the time, not all of the time,

Is this a setting i can change?

Help I have a 2 month old HP laptop and the DVD drive went out. I need to get a home made movie (DVD) to my laptop. I have a desktop and have a DSL connection. how do i get it from my desktop to my laptop? i tried to email it, but i can't because it is too big. please help.

Silly me, I spilled soda on my laptop keyboard. Now, most of the important keys like "enter", "space", "arrow keys" and more are not functioning. I opened my laptop and found out that, it is just easy to plug the keyboard in, just like on desktops. I just wanna know if it is replaceable so I can buy a new keyboard, and I myself will just plug it.

My bf is getting me one for Christmas ♥ & I can't choose.. I am indecisive (obviously) :) I will use it for DL music, internet & that is really about it - photos, etc so I know I don't need as much mem or HD as I am getting but just in case, I want the better ones.

Sony is more $ for less features & I don't like the keys. I have heard it's the best one though but read otherwise - heats up, stops running in about yr, etc but the repairs on consumer reports are the least. Mixes reviews.

Toshiba reviews mentions probs with IE7. 4.1 out of 5 score. Good speakers, comes with 2 GB mem, 160 HD & a shared Nividia (?) video card. The HP has the same name card but a higher model # maybe. Does that make a difference - shared vs not and the model #?? Heard keys are off and small.

The HP has 100 hard drive, 1 GB memory, and a video card that is only for video - not shared. It is sharp looking and nice display - sounds good 2..

Do u think I will regret the 17 inch??

This problem doesnt occur at a specific time nor does it seem caused by a specific thing we do. If I turn the computer off and then restart, the problem seems to go away.

So tell me friends,what is my best bet?My priority is not to be paying like 50, 60 bucks a month for 2 yr.s.!
I see adds on the net that say earthlink offers like 6 months service 4 like $10.00!And some other adds go as low as $5.00 a month!So are these sweet deals really a sham ,or what?If they are what i.s.p do you's guys recommed?

Hi, i previously owned an HP Dv5000 laptop which i used to regularly connect to the Tv to watch movies using a 4 pin S-video cable, i recently bought the new HP Dv6000 laptop but i cannot seem to get it to work.

I went through all the settings, everything was alright but the only thing i could see on my tv was flickering lines....does anybody have any idea on how to solve this problem??
