How DO I reboot my XPS 1210 DELL? By that I mean, how do I wipe out the hardrive as if the computer was brand new. Some computers have the reboot software built into their computers, does this computer have that or is there some sort of cd I should have gotten with the laptop?

Im getting a new laptop- an asus with a built in camera webcama. I was just wondering if the computer will come equipt with a program that you can take photos with (sorta like the apple photobooth) or wheather i will have to buy a seprate program to take photos with.

if i were to do a clean install would i need the exact copy used on my laptop or can I find any windows xp disc and use that?

My Acer that I bought 8 months ago, which now I think is a big mistake!!! was foirmatting an external HDD then asked to reboot in which I did.. But now, I can't even get the main system to restore!!! it keeps asking for the restore CDs over an over again. THe D2D recovery in the BIOS is enabled and tried many tricks to get it back up again like booting from the CDROM....But NO AVAIL. Acer itself was not a big help either, and I have a lot of info on that drive that I need back. I have tried also booting with a win floppy, but all it did was give me a red screen. Finally, while checking the sectors through a test SW. It came up with (file 912300.sys is corrupted). Can someone out there please help??

I recently brought a laptop from an aquaintance who has since disappeared.The laptop appears to work,but I can't access the internet because he didnt leave me his m.s.n password.
Is it true that alls I have to do now, is purchase a wireless internet "card" for the laptop and then I will be able to access the web?
This seems to be to easy,if it is ,please inform me on what Iam forgetting and any other info you feel pertinent,such as another simple way to obtain internet access via my handmedwn laptop.

i have a laptop but it dont have firewire it has a 1394 connection what ever that is. anyway i need to be able to use firewire so is there some adapter i can get that plugs in to usb or something. thanks

Pavilion DV8235NR Drive died. HP sent replacement which does not work (restore DVD's say not for this PC). Original drive in "refurbished" laptop only label is AMZK3000I00. Help-HP phone help don't seem to know what is happening either!!!

i just purchased a laptop with 1080 display and a place to plug in a HDMI... i was thinking if i buy a playsation 3 would i be able to play it using the laptop screen..... considering i dont own a HDTV...

i turn my laptop on, it stays on and runs normally for about 2-3 mins then a blue screen comes up with lots of writing (it just flashes up so i cant actually read it ,but it says something about bios?), and the laptop restarts! what is happening???
