How DO I reboot my XPS 1210 DELL? By that I mean, how do I wipe out the hardrive as if the computer was brand new. Some computers have the reboot software built into their computers, does this computer have that or is there some sort of cd I should have gotten with the laptop?

Some new computers come with a quick restore disk. My Dell laptop did not. You would have to reformat your computer, use the XP CD and reinstall everything yourself.

The laptop should have come with a "recovery CD". If you bought the laptop used, I'd call Dell and order one. It will reset the computer to its original factory configurations. If it was new, look again through the box, and call Dell if you didn't get one.

If it particularly is a BIOS lock, then you certainly would desire to take the ingredient aside and get rid of the battery from the motherboard. (on the grounds that i do no longer understand if it particularly is a pc, there's a battery it relatively is on the Motherboard that keeps the settings of the pc whilst the pc battery is bumped off). enable the gadget sit down in one day and then placed the battery back in the the Motherboard.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
