My laptop has only a dvd rom
If i buy a dvd writer in the market...........how do i plug it to my laptop.............do i need something else........software or hardware
I also wanted a method to transfer my handycam videos to my laptop........but my cam dosent have pc synscronization.........

get one with a USB plug and then plug it into a 2.0 port to see if you have a 2.0 port open device manager and in the USB area look for enhanced that'll be the 2.0 port it doesn't have to be 2.0 it's just that it's alot faster than a 1.1 port

the writer will come with all the software you need also you will need a usb port and depending on the writer somethimes they coem with one read the box and its contents and c if it comes with one if not then purchase a usb to connect the writer to your laptop
Does your handy cam use a memory stick? Save all your videos to your memory stick and then upload them on to your computer or laptop (most computers dont come with stick readers only card reader) so go to your local best buy or somtehing and tell them youll need the adapter for your stick to turn it into a card and you can upload your videos that way

You will need to get an external DVD Writer and plug it into a USB port on your laptop.
