i have a laptop but it dont have firewire it has a 1394 connection what ever that is. anyway i need to be able to use firewire so is there some adapter i can get that plugs in to usb or something. thanks

IEEE 1394 is Firewire. So you already have it. But if you need other connections, you have a few options. They make usb to Firewire adapters. Also you can get a PCMCIA card (the ones that look like credit cards) that is a Firewire adapter card. I hope this helps.

I would guess your laptop has a PC Card expansion slot... I suggest getting a firewire pc card for your laptop. You can pick one up from your local computer store, or I highly suggest www.newegg.com
