which type of cable i used for that or what are the other essential acccessories required for it..? thax for giving ur time

If you have an available PCMCIA slot (CARD SLOT) you can buy a PCMCIA based tv tuner card or output card. They are usually around 75 dollars to start.
Otherwise the easiest way to connect would be if your laptop had an S-VIDEO or COMPOSITE output. That would be easy to spot.

COM ports are not designed for that. Your laptop should have an external-monitor connector on the back. make sure that the BIOS settings are set for both CRT and LCD display. Depending on the video adapter in your laptop your laptop screen may or may not be blank when connected to an external monitor..check your documentation regarding this.

You would normally use vga or s-video. I can't possibly beleive the only port on your laptop is serial...
